Division I players helping out at Mustang Basketball Camp on June 10-12
FROM STAFF REPORTS
MARBLE FALLS — To help boys basketball players at the Mustang Basketball Camp, Marble Falls head coach Neil Laminack is bringing some guest coaches who know more than just how to play the game.
They also know Laminack’s system since they played for him before moving on to play in the college ranks.
Those guests include University of Oklahoma’s Andrew Fitzgerald, American University point guard Blake Jolivette and Sam Houston State University center Antuan Bootle.
Laminack said the similarities of these athletes as high school players compare to the Mustangs.
“These guys weren’t Division I players when they were sophomores in high school,” he said. “They have very good understanding, they work hard. They put in the type of work you have to, and they know how to be successful people. I like to have guys around our players who have been there, done that.”
The camp is 9 a.m.-noon June 10-12 at Marble Falls High School, 2101 Mustang Drive, and costs $65 per player.
“It’s going to be a fun three days,” Laminack said. “I’m looking forward to it.”
