Marble Falls voters keep mayor, add new council face

MARBLE FALLS — Marble Falls voters didn’t shake things up during the May 11 elections but picked incumbent Mayor George Russell over his challenger, John Davis.

Russell held off Davis, 257-140.

Voters also stuck by two incumbent council members and added one new name to the dais.

In the council race, incumbents Jane Marie Hurst and Ryan Nash kept their chairs at the table. George “Butch” Kemper will join them.

Those three earned the most votes out of the four-way race with local businessman Russell Buster coming in fourth.

The vote break down went:

• Russell Buster, 166

• Jane Marie Hurst, 229

• George “Butch” Kemper, 260

• Ryan Nash, 270
