OBITUARY: Linda Ann Roberts Abshier, 62, of Bluffton dies May 6, 2013

Linda Ann Roberts Abshier, 62, of Bluffton, Texas, passed away May 6, 2013, due to complications of pancreatic cancer.
A funeral service is 10 a.m. May 11 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. Brother Gerald Moore will be officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. May 10 the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Bluffton Cemetery. The family invites you for a barbecue dinner at Hill Country Hall in Buchanan Dam immediately after burial.
Linda was born in Lampasas, Texas, on June 11, 1950. She graduated from Lampasas High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Tarleton State University in 1976.
Linda married Ronald D. Abshier on April 25, 1992; they were married for 21 years.
Linda worked as an elementary school teacher in the San Antonio area and Lometa for 30 years. She loved meeting new people and socializing with friends. After retiring from teaching, it wasn’t long before she was back at work at the Bluffton Post Office. When she wasn’t chatting with neighbors at work or making new friends in town, Linda often could be found at the Bluffton store, scratching away at lottery tickets. Linda enjoyed keeping in touch with other teachers as a member of the Lampasas County Retired Teachers’ Association. Her big heart, independent spirit and bright smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ron; two stepdaughters, Kim Diefenthaler and husband Tim and Tracy Berg and husband David; three step-grandchildren, Kylie, Dylan and Evan; mother, Elizabeth Roberts; brother, Harvey Roberts and wife Susan; nieces and nephews; and the rest of her family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Richard T. Roberts.
