OBITUARY: Gailon Turner, 64, of Marble Falls dies April 29, 2013
Gailon Turner, 64, of Marble Falls passed away April 29, 2013. Born March 27, 1949, in Muncie, Ind., he was the son of Joseph Leonard and Edna Emogene (Flowers) Turner.
Gailon graduated with honors from Muncie Central High School in 1967. In 1973, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in radio broadcasting and journalism from Ball State University in Muncie. He received a Master of Business Administration from San Jose State University in California in 1983.
Gailon moved to the San Francisco Bay area, where he met his soulmate, Kathleen Rice Turner. They were married in July 1990. He was blessed with two lovely daughters, Jody Marie, now 20, and Layne Elise, now 16.
Gailon and his family moved to Texas in September 1999. He was very active in the choir at First Presbyterian Church in Austin for many years. The family moved to the Marble Falls area in 2005. Gailon was an active member at First United Methodist Church of Marble Falls. He held various corporate accounting jobs, most recently with Horseshoe Bay Resort.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at both Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock and Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple for their excellent care of Gailon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gailon is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughters, Jody and Layne; and brothers, Reid Turner and Denby Turner of Muncie. In addition, he is survived by several nieces; nephews; cousins; his favorite aunt, Barbara; and uncle Earl Flowers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to B.A.C.A. Highland Lakes, P.O. Box 1939, Burnet, TX 78611, or to the Children’s/Youth Ministries at First United Methodist Church of Marble Falls.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. May 3 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. A celebration of Gailon’s life is 11 a.m. May 4 at First United Methodist Church of Marble Falls with the Revs. Ellen Ely and Jon Weems officiating.
