MARBLE FALLS — When Marble Falls Fire Rescue Capt. Coy Guenter looked out of the fire house sometime before 8 a.m. April 23 after receiving a call about a blaze on the east edge of the city, he knew it wasn’t a minor one.“We could see the smoke from the station,” Guenter said. “We immediately began calling for assistance. And when we rolled up to it, there was fire coming from four of the windows.”

The fire destroyed a manufactured home on RR 1431 between Mustang Drive and Manzano Mile. As fire crews responded, Marble Falls police temporarily stopped traffic on the thoroughfare but began letting vehicles pass once the emergency units were on scene.

Guenter said three people inside the residence when the fire started made it out safely.

Fire units from Marble Falls Fire Rescue, Marble Falls Area Volunteer Fire Department, Granite Shoals Fire Department and Horseshoe Bay Fire Rescue responded along with the Marble Falls Area EMS, Marble Falls Police Department and Burnet County Sheriff’s Office.

Fire crews contained the fire to the one residence though at least two similar structures were nearby.

Once firefighters knocked down the blaze from the outside, Guenter said they began entering the structure to look for hot spots and lingering embers.

Marble Falls Fire Rescue Chief Johnny Caraway said the initial investigation has the cause as electrical.
