MARBLE FALLS — Even though the game against Leander Rouse had ended 30 minutes earlier, Marble Falls High School softball coach Tino Salazar remained at a loss for words. He couldn’t explain the 8-6 loss to Leander Rouse. The Lady Mustangs had 10 hits and only two errors compared to the Lady Raiders’ nine hits and four errors.
Instead of trying to analyze the defeat, Salazar decided to move forward.
“We’re just going to focus on Dripping Springs,” he said. Marble Falls will play the Lady Tigers on April 19 to end the regular season.
Dripping Springs has won the District 25-4A crown and is looking to end their campaign with a perfect record.
The Lady Mustangs are hoping for a win to clinch the district’s final playoff spot. If Marble Falls loses and Rouse beats Leander Vandegrift, the Lady Mustangs will face the Lady Raiders a third time this season in a play-in game at a neutral site.
“We have to come out firing,” Salazar said.
