OBITUARY: Billie Taylor, 84, of Burnet dies April 13, 2013

A funeral service for Mrs. Billie Taylor, 84, of Burnet is 10 a.m. April 17 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. April 16 at the funeral home.

Billie passed away April 13, 2013, at a local nursing center.

Billie Lee (Bible) Taylor was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Leander, Texas, to James C. and Ruby Briscoe Bible. She worked for Burnet Consolidated Independent School District in food service and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Burnet and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Chapter 425.

Billie enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and working in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; son Phillip; parents; brothers Dorman Bible, Chester Bible and Curtis Bible; sisters Wanda Ashbranner, Nancy Brizendine and Connie Marx.

She is survived by sons Mike Taylor of Texas City and Richard Taylor and wife Louisa of Santa Fe; daughter-in-law Belinda Taylor of Austin; sister Virginia Carey and husband R.L.; and sister-in-law Bobbie Bible. She was affectionately known as “Granny” by her grandchildren, Michael Taylor Jr., Bobby Taylor, Rachel Boaz, Jessica Anderson, Randall Taylor and Dakota Taylor; great-grandchildren, Michayla Taylor, Alissa Taylor, Alexa Taylor, Paige Anderson, Maverick Taylor, Carter Boaz, Max Taylor, Aidan Anderson and Gunnar Taylor; and numerous other family members.

Honoring Billie with their service as pallbearers are Bobby Taylor, Brad Anderson, Randall Taylor, Glen Brizendine, Chris Boaz and Jimmy Bible and honorary pallbearers are Glenn Bible and Thurman Davenport.

The family would like to thank the staff of Oak’s Nursing Home and Mary Eiller for their compassionate and wonderful care of our mother and also the members of First Baptist Church for all their visits and prayers.
