OBITUARY: DeChantal L. Philips, 81, of Sunrise Beach dies March 25, 2013
DeChantal “Dee” L. Philips, 81, of Sunrise Beach, Texas, passed away March 25, 2013. She was born to Loren and Edith (Dowling) McCampbell on Dec. 11, 1931, in Sioux City, Iowa.
Dee worked as an administrative assistant and devoted most of her life to caring for all of her family. Many years of her life were spent in the San Antonio area, but her true love was Lake LBJ. After retiring to Sunrise Beach, she was active on the city council.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, refinishing furniture and, especially, time with her family.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Bryan and Renee Philips of Austin and David and Denise Philips of New Braunfels; granddaughters Camille and Megan Phillips; brother Loren McCampbell; and sisters Penny Renken and Vicki Lykes.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Wallace Philips; son Baby Philips; granddaughter Paige Philips; brother Wally McCampbell; and sister Bobette Vollmer.
