MARBLE FALLS — The scoreboard can be deceiving, according to Marble Falls High School girls soccer coach Trey Young.

Though the Lady Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Lady Raiders on March 5, Rouse only led 1-0 until the final five minutes.

The Lady Raiders knocked in a ricochet ball for a goal and later scored on a penalty.

“Questionable penalty at the very end,” Young said. “The score didn’t reflect what was going on.”

The coach said he was pleased with the performance of his players, particularly in how they handled the physicality of the match.

“It took us a long time to figure out that nothing was going to be called (as penalties),” he said. “Cedar Park was physical. We were super aggressive.”
