CEDAR PARK — The Marble Falls High School boys soccer team lost to Leander Rouse 2-1 on March 5.

The two squads played to a scoreless halftime, then the Raiders scored 11 minutes into the second half. The Mustangs tied the game 10 minutes later.

But with 17 minutes left, Rouse scored the winning goal on a free kick.

“The kid zinged it to the corner,” Marble Falls head coach Michael Nave said. “There’s no way to stop it. It was just a great shot.”

The loss means the Mustangs are out the running for a playoff spot, he said.

“We played hard,” he said. “The kids gave 100-percent effort. We came close.”
