CEDAR PARK — In two minutes, Leander Rouse turned a 0-0 game into win against the Marble Falls High School girls soccer team Feb. 22.

After a scoreless first half, the Lady Raiders found the back of the net on a corner kick within the first two minutes of the second half.

That’s all they needed.

The Lady Mustangs haven’t scored a goal in District 51-4A play, and head coach Trey Young asked his players if the lack of offense was a physical or a mental issue. They said it was mental.

He has used positive constructive thinking. Now he is helping them with their visualization exercises.

And he plans on using more reserves in the second half.

The hope is that fresh legs will help the Lady Mustangs stay with markers better and outrun opponents to the ball.

“We’re shorter than everybody else,” Young said. “We’ll put ourselves in the runner’s lane.”

TOP PLAYERS: Elise Cardenas and Siobhan Patterson

RECORDS: Marble Falls is 7-8-1 overall and 0-5-0 in District 51-4A.
