Marble Falls boys golfers place sixth at Bastrop tourney
FROM STAFF REPORTS
BASTROP — The Marble Falls High School boys No. 1 golf team placed sixth after shooting a 342-364–706 during the two-day Bastrop tournament Feb. 15-16.
Mustangs head coach Lonnie Tackitt said he was pleased with the first-round score.
“We shot our second best round of the year,” he said.
It also helped that Jack Scott posted an 83 score on the first day and dropped it to 80 on the second day for a new personal best, the coach said.
The second day was more difficult.
“The greens were tough to figure out, and we lost a lot of strokes around them,” Tackitt said. “We did finish sixth out of 12, so it was a decent tournament.”
