Members of the 2013 Highland Lakes Master Naturalists training class were introduced at the February general meeting. Class members include Morgan Beck (left), Melissa Duckworth, Rhonda Spray Kurtzman, George Brugnoli, Minnie Eaton, Karen Lundquist, Bob Caruthers, Cris Faught, Sunny Mazzan, Jo Ellen Cashion, Teri Garrett-Benge, Rebecca Nunnally, John De La Garza, Karyn Ponder Parker, Lori Greco, Paula D’Orsogna, Allan Wolfe, Susan Downey, George Hehr and Sharon Hehr. The trainees will become certified Texas Master Naturalists after participating in an approved chapter training program with a minimum of 40 hours of combined field and classroom instruction in all aspects of the environment and nature, and then by completing eight hours of approved advanced training and 40 hours of volunteer service, which must be completed each subsequent year to retain certification.
