Known as a showplace for budding thespians, Hill Country Community Theatre is an all-volunteer, nonprofit venue where area actors stage a variety of performances, including musicals, dramas and comedies.

Performances are acclaimed for the professionalism of the sets, costumes and, of course, the acting. The modern, comfortable playhouse features a foyer/lounge and about 150 seats, each with an excellent view of the stage.

Popular productions, which are typically seasonal, have included “Wizard of Oz,” “Steel Magnolias” and “A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol.”

The next production, “Charlie Cox Runs With Scissors,” is set for select days from April 25 to May 5. During that time, the theater also will be auditioning for the summer production of “Willie Wonka.”
