OBITUARY: Lillian Wilkes, 94, of Granite Shoals loved animals, especially husband’s Lacy dogs
Lillian Ruth Wilkes, 94, of Granite Shoals passed away Feb. 10, 2013. She was born to Luther and Pearl Jackson on Oct. 26, 1919, in Hope, Ark. She was the loving wife of H.C. Wilkes for more than 65 years.
Ruth enjoyed family and friends and her beloved animals. She worked on a ranch raising all types of critters and loved her husband’s Lacy dogs.
Wilkes is survived by her grandchildren Calvin Wilkes of Granite Shoals, Chatella Worley of Kingsland, Martin Wilkes of Marble Falls and Bill Worley of Granite Shoals; eight great-grandkids; and seven great-great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clive; and children, Shirley Fay, Rusty, Judy and Linda.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, TBD, at the Putnam Funeral Home Chapel in Kingsland. The Rev. Max Copeland of Marble Falls will officiate. Inurnment will follow.
