MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School girls soccer team had an unexpected visitor Jan. 25.

The Lady Mustangs thought they had a week off, but Austin Akins arrived looking for a contest.

So Marble Falls head coach Trey Young got in touch with his players and told them they needed to grab their gear and get ready to play.

It worked out well for Marble Falls. The Lady Mustangs won 1-0 thanks to Krystal Albarran, who scored the goal off an assist from Cristina Sanchez.

“A beautiful cross,” Young said.

In addition, the coach said the Lady Mustangs’ defense worked well and credited Britney Deering for her play.

“Strong defense in the middle by Britney Deering helped our defense put up another shutout,” he said.

RECORDS: Marble Falls is 5-2-1.
