Faith girls now only unbeaten team in district after win
FROM STAFF REPORTS
WACO — The matchup of unbeatens in District 4-2A of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools didn’t hold up to the hype.
The Faith Academy of Marble Falls girls basketball team, ranked No. 1 in the small private schools poll of the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, rolled to a 68-19 win against Waco Texas Christian on Jan. 22.
“We had pretty balanced scoring, we broke the ball pretty well,” Lady Flames head coach Jerry English said.
The victory was Faith’s 73rd consecutive in district play.
“You have a lot of things going against you,” English said. “To keep it going is impressive. That’s what I’m proud of. Consistency: That’s what 73 games says, that we have done a consistent job, not only in games, but in years.”
