AUSTIN — Early foul trouble didn’t derail the Faith Academy of Marble Falls girls basketball team in its 74-35 win against Temple Holy Trinity on Jan. 15.
The Lady Flames took a 17-10 lead early in the second quarter and finished the period on a 24-3 run for a 26-9 halftime advantage.

“Really, we had not been hitting on all cylinders,” Faith head coach Jerry English said. “All of the sudden, we amped it up and broke the ball 15 times in a row.”
The Lady Flames, who are on a 20-game winning streak, added their 71st consecutive district win, a streak that goes back to the 2006-2007 season.
English’s was concerned about the level of intensity and competition his team was showing, so he recently had a chat with his players to remind them of the importance of preparing daily.
“We have to be pushing each other hard in practice to increase our depth,” he said.
