Marble Falls boys fall to Leander Rouse in district play
LEANDER — All Leander Rouse needed to turn an eight-point lead into a 63-40 victory against the Marble Falls High School boys basketball team Jan. 5 was five minutes.
Marble Falls head coach Neil Laminack said his players are still learning they must compete for all 32 minutes.“They’re not there yet,” he said.
It also didn’t help that Rouse was 14-of-17 from the foul line and hit seven 3-pointers when the Raiders needed them the most, Laminack said.
Now, the Mustangs must return to the mental form they showed in their 42-38 victory against Cedar Park on Jan. 2, the coach said.
“With half a quarter against Rouse, some of those old habits that died have reared their ugly heads,” he said. “After the game, all I said was what I thought. It was written all over their faces. It’s a question of what are you going to do about it?”
