Lowell Curtis Clark, 97, was born July 19, 1915, to William Andrew “Will” Clark and Malinda Cordelia “Cordie” Abel in the Pleasant Valley Community outside Marble Falls, Texas, in Burnet County. He passed away at Granite Mesa Health Center in Marble Falls on Jan. 3, 2013, with his family present.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Owen, Orville and Grady; sisters Nora Clark, Leona Phinney, Claudia Gardner and his twin sister, Lola Murtis Clark; his first wife of 47 years and the mother of his children, Ila Sims Clark; and his second wife of 28 years, Ima Sims Clark; son, James Lowell Clark; daughter, Lillian Pauline Crawford; son-in-laws Eugene Crawford, Charles Chadwick and Alfred Wood; grandson, Wayne Alfred Wood; and grandson-in-law, Thomas Wayne David.He is survived by daughter, Naomi Wood Chadwick of Liberty Hill; daughter-in-law, Betty Williams Clark Beasley of Marble Falls; grandsons Richard Crawford and wife Dee, Leon Crawford and David Crawford, all of Austin, and Michael “Mike” Clark and wife LeeAnn of Marble Falls; granddaughters Diana Crawford Lee and Sherry Crawford, both of Austin, Kara Wood David of Round Rock, Jeanene Wood Jones and husband Mike of Georgetown, Vicki Clark Patterson and husband Barry of Spicewood and Sonya Clark Smith and husband Barry of Jarrell.

He is also survived by great-grandsons Jeremiah Henry, a U.S. Marine, and wife Kaylienne of Chicopee, Mass., Lance Lee and Travis and Noah Crawford, all of Austin, Matthew David and Tiffany of Round Rock, Brandun Patterson, in the U.S. Army, Jessica of Louisiana and Logan Clark of San Angelo; great-granddaughters Shanna Henry Leezer and husband Eric of Rockford, Ill., Maria Crawford and Casalin “Cassie” Crawford, both of Austin, Krystal David Petty and husband Jason of Leander, Jenna Jones Preece and husband Jaret of Yoakum, Megan Jones of Buda, Lindsay Jones of Abilene, Jennifer Clark Virdell and husband Kevin of Marble Falls, Ashlee Clark Carroll and husband Parker of Spicewood, Janaya Titus Montejano-Dominquez and husband Sacramento Dominguez of Georgetown; great-great-grandsons Taylur Patterson of Odessa, Miloh Leezer of Rockford, Ill., Joel Fox Petty of Leander and Josef Montejano and Benjamin Dominguez of Georgetown; great-great-granddaughters McKynzie Patterson of Odessa, Zoey Montejano of Georgetown, Kenley and Kamryn Virdell of Marble Falls, Makenzie Preece of Yoakum and Madelyn Leezer of Rockford, Ill.

Curtis is also survived by nieces Marjorie Clark Oehler Koehl of Lake Charles, La., and Ruth Clark Smith of Humble; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and other family members and friends.

Curtis was a farmer and, in 1951, became a carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing, playing his guitar along with other instruments and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all. He was baptized into the Church of Christ at an early age by his minister uncle Lawson Green in Smithwick.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Jan. 5 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. A funeral service is 2 p.m. Jan. 6 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Marble Falls City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Curtis’ great-grandsons.
