KILLEEN — The Marble Falls High School girls soccer team earned two victories during a scrimmage tournament at Killeen Harker Heights on Jan. 3.

The Lady Mustangs defeated Hutto 3-1 and Harker Heights 1-0 but tied old foe Lampasas 1-1.Head coach Trey Young, in his first year of coaching the Lady Mustangs, said he received compliments about his squad’s play during the event.

“Harker Heights was a physical battle in midfield,” he said. “Even the referee said what a great game (it was) because of just how hard both teams fought.

“Lampasas was very aggressive. The midfield was physical,” he added. “We let them dictate the game. The only problem I had was we let Lampasas dictate the game.”

He complimented players Krystal Albarran, Megan Morgan and Selena Roman for their performances throughout the day.
