River’s Edge wins commercial division of Kingsland lighting contest
KINGSLAND — The Kingsland Christmas Lighting contest was bigger than ever this holiday season with the River’s Edge RV Park leading the way with its winning displays on every property within the cove.
The facility is located just east of Lookout Mountain on Lake LBJ.
“We had more decorations, and yes, we have see a couple of more people who went all out,” said Charlotte Dilworth, a member of the Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce and lighting contest organizer. “We saw a lot more of the neighborhoods (participating).”
The categories included residential and commercial as well as neighborhood.
River’s Edge RV Park won first place while Charlie Chitwood of Charlie’s Boat Docks finished second in the commercial category. Renee Edwards of 1914 Forest Trail, won first place in the residential category. Kingsland Trails Loop earned first place for best neighborhood display. First place winners received restaurant gift certificates.
