Delbert Duane Kleen

Delbert Duane Kleen was born and grew up in Llano, Texas, where he was a valued member of the community.

He served for 38 years with the Llano Volunteer Fire Department and worked at Ratliff Chevrolet as a mechanic for 28 years before retiring.

Delbert was a kind-hearted man who would give you the shirt off his back with no questions asked.  He loved attending the Hill Country Sand Drags out near Valley Springs and spent most of his free weekends in Liberty Hill with his family and friends.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Vicki Kleen of Llano, and son Eric Gray, daughter Crystal Gray and grandchildren James, Laura and Jaelyn Gray, all of Liberty Hill.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Kleen Hefner; father, Sidney Kleen; and stepfather, Raymond Hefner.

It saddens me to say that God has called home one of his beautiful angels. Delbert Kleen has been a dear friend to this family as well as many others for many, many years! Anyone who has had the pleasure to meet Delbert knows what an honor it was to call him friend. He was a wonderful husband, stepfather and papa. He will be greatly missed!

An open viewing was Dec. 16 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. A family viewing followed. A service was Dec. 16 at the Liberty Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Raymond Cantrell, Roy Floyd, Floyd Harris, Mike Cantrell, Doug Cantrell, Roy Feller, Glen Trieble and Jerry Lohmann. Honorary pallbearers were the Llano Volunteer Fire Department, C.A. “Dobin” Cantrell, Richard “Hoot” Hooten, Dennis Alexander, Zene Carlisle.
