Opal Mae Mendenhall, 81, of Llano died Oct. 31, 2012. She was born on July 13, 1931, in Throckmorton, to Frank J. and Minnie (Harless) Dodson.
She married Frank Edward “Toby” Mendenhall in Haskell on July 4, 1949.
She was a resident of both Llano and Kingsland for the past 46 years, moving from Odessa. She was a member of Kingsland First Baptist Church and the Llano Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include daughters Debbie Honig and husband Herman of Llano and Rita Hicks of Graham; sons Douglas Mendenhall of Seguin and Calvin “Rusty” Mendenhall and wife Sherry of Liberty; brothers Lavoy Dodson of Wisconsin and John Dodson of Nevada; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004; her parents; and brothers Dub, Frank Jr. and Odell Dodson.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Nov. 1 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A private graveside service and burial will be in the Llano City Cemetery. A memorial service is 2:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at Llano Rehab and Nursing in Llano with Stacey Nobles officiating.
