MARBLE FALLS — Faith Academy of Marble Falls head volleyball coach Todd Still says he sounds like a broken record, but it’s true— his Lady Flames continue to improve every time they step on the court despite the fact they’re 0-8.

“We look better every week,” he said. “Our girls played their best volleyball of the year.”

Faith started district play with losses to Temple Holy Trinity on Sept. 1-3 and to Austin Hill Country on Sept. 17.

“I’m hoping (Hill Country) is the best team in district,” Still said. “Hill Country is strong as garlic. They have four girls over six feet tall and attack in every position on the court. They were firing their all on a regular basis.”

Even without a win, Still said he’s pleased with his players’ efforts and focus.

“This team of fighters on the court does not know how to surrender,” he said. “I think they always think there’s a chance to win.”

The Lady Flames welcome Waco Vanguard at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 to The Fire Pit on the Faith campus, three miles east of Marble Falls off RR 1431.
