Donald Scott Ferguson, 77, of Burnet died Aug. 31, 2012, at his home following a brief illness. He was born on Aug. 23, 1935, in Belgrade, Mo., to Earl D. and Frances (Adams) Ferguson.
He worked for more than 40 years in the petroleum chemical industry. His job led him to many travels and adventures across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He lived for 13 years in Singapore and two years in Abu Dhabi.
His family, his dogs Sam, Kai and Blanco, gardening, feeding wildlife, writing on numerous historical events and keeping in touch with many lifelong friends and associates filled his world since his retirement in 2000.
He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Survivors include son Donald Scott Ferguson Jr. and wife Lisa of Louisville, Ky.; daughters Michelle Ferguson and Allyson Brown and husband Nathan, all of Burnet; grandchildren Drew, Taylor and Riley, all of Louisville, Ky., and Justin, Jacob and Chris, all of Burnet; lifelong friend Phyllis Ferguson of Burnet; brother Les Ferguson and wife Sharon of Bella Vista, Ark.; and nieces Shawn Dyson of Champaign, Ill., and Michelle Bulette of Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
