Benjamin Houghton Graham
Benjamin Houghton Graham, 81, died Aug. 19, 2012, at Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock. He was born in Burnet on Sept. 30, 1930, to Corbett and Jalina (Green) Graham.
He graduated from Marble Falls High School and lived his life in the Marble Falls area. He was a master clock and watch repairman, worked for the Marble Falls Independent School District as a bus driver and labored as a carpenter when needed.
He was a talented, self-taught musician who played the guitar, piano, fiddle and mandolin. Along with his his father and brothers, he was always ready to play music. Many weekends they were joined by other family members to form an impromptu band.
Survivors include maternal cousins Emma Moore of Lake Worth, Sue Levingston of Azle, Betty Barker of Georgetown, Mary Katherine Lunday of Alvin and Truman Curtis Green of Tallahassee, Fla.; paternal cousins Elberta Holloway Faubion and Darlene Farmer Oostermeyer, both of Marble Falls, Louise Holloway Smith of San Antonio, Eulala Holloway Bell of Houston, Beverly Farmer Clement of Pleasanton and William Calvin Farmer of New Braunfels; other cousins Vernon Farmer Jr., Drake Farmer and Sharon Farmer Morrison, all of Austin, Deborah Farmer Bretz of San Antonio and Alan Edwards and Bonnie Edwards, both of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dempsey and Taylor.
A graveside service is 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at Fairland Cemetery with the Rev. Max Copeland officiating.
Houghton lived the last six years of his life at Northwood Health Care Center and then Granite Mesa Health Center. The family thanks the staff for their care of him during those years.
