Derol Owen Sagebiel, 59, of Llano and formerly of Willow City, died Aug. 13, 2012. He was born in Fredericksburg on Feb. 24, 1953, to Desmond and Maybeth (Owen) Sagebiel.
He graduated from Fredericksburg High School and married Regina Lorene Ahrlett on Aug. 25, 1979, in Llano.
He worked for Edmond Jenschke for 14 years and Standard Gypsum for 25 years as a heavy equipment operator. He also was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Llano and a former member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife and father, survivors include sons Roy Charles Sagebiel and wife Lisa of Willow City and Joe Albert Sagebiel and wife Autumn of Llano; sister Barbara Rees and husband Buddy of Willow City; grandson Jaden Owen Sagebiel of Llano; step-granddaughter Shailea Audas of Willow City; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Aug. 15 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A funeral service is 2 p.m. Aug. 16 at the funeral home with the Rev. Elliott Pancoast and Deacon Mike Goetz officiating. Burial will follow at Llano City Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Steve Carter, Mario Morales, Mike Head, Rudy Ahrens, Kenny Priess and Max Beckmann. Honorary pallbearers include Ramon Guaverra, Glendine Land, Franklin Staats, David Segner, Jo Ed Jenscke, Steven Segner and other close friends.
