UIL changes to two-a-days affect team preparation, Burnet, Llano coaches say

BURNET — The first week of two-a-day football practices conclude Saturday, Aug. 11, with intrasquad scrimmages, and coaches are eager to see several things from their players.
But one thing they probably won’t see is the level of fatigue players experienced during the same week last year.
That’s because the University Interscholastic League changed its two-a-day policy during the offseason because of the record triple-digit heat that scorched the state last summer and concerns about players’ health.
