MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls Athletic Booster Club has added a “Tailgate with Coach Dodge” event July 27 as part of its first golf tournament that will be conducted the next day.
Both the tailgate party and the golf tournament are raising money for the new Marble Falls High School weight room, athletic director Todd Dodge said.
The tailgate will be at the high school parking lot, 2101 Mustang Drive, where the club will offer hamburger and hot dog plates for $5.
“I’ll give tours of the new weight room,” Dodge said.
The cost to eat is included in the price for registered golfers playing in the tournament at Legends Golf Course, 105 FM 2342 in Kingsland.
The four-player scramble begins at 8:30 a.m. and costs $100 per golfer to participate. Prizes will be given away for first, second and third place, men’s and women’s longest drives, holes-in-one and closest to the pin.
Three spots are still available to be on Dodge’s team, and Marble Falls Independent School District Superintendent Rob O’Connor also said he plans to participate and play on another team.
“We’re raising money for the kids,” Dodge said.
