Home run puts Marble Falls Pintos youth baseball team in state tourney

BUDA — One swing of the bat left Zack Zavala’s teammates, opponents and fans in shock July 1.

The Marble Falls Pintos, an 8-and-under youth baseball team, needed two runs to eliminate San Marcos and stamp their tickets to the state tournament in Burleson on July 18-21.

And Zavala delivered a home run that initiated the run rule and led to the 16-6 victory and Marble Falls finishing second at the regional tournament June 28, 30 and July 1.
