William Gregory Melton
William Gregory Melton, 63, of Cleburne died May 18, 2012. He was born Jan. 16, 1949, in Burnet, the son of Johnnie and Stella Melton.
He was a Vietnam veteran. His career spanned decades in the petroleum industry. He worked in Texas and in New Mexico.
In addition to his mother, survivors include siblings Tommy Melton and wife Laurie of Odessa, Johnny Melton and wife Sandy of Aransas Pass, Pete Melton and wife Cindy of Olney, Billy Melton and wife Becky of Runaway Bay, Stella Whitmire and husband John of Cameron and Dorothy Cowey and husband Lanny of Burnet; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhea Suzanne Melton; daughter Tammy Dianne Melton; father; and sister Hazel Melton.
A visitation was May 20 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444.
A funeral service is 1 p.m. May 21 at Northside Baptist Church in Burnet with the Rev. Jimmy Frazier officiating.
A second visitation is 6-8 p.m. May 23 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home in Carlsbad, N.M.,with final interment 10 a.m. at Carlsbad Cemetery .
Pallbearers include nephews Chris Melton, Johnny Melton, Michal Melton, John Mark Lastly, Tyler Melton and Stevan Swope.
