Betty Joyce Menges Waters
Betty Joyce Menges Waters, 82, died May 6, 2012. She was born in Bangs on March 21, 1930, and grew up in Killeen, the oldest of six children.
She attended school through 11th grade at the Avenue D high school in Killeen. She married Richard Waters in 1947.
She worked at Farmers State Bank in Bertram for 25 years until her retirement. Her hobbies included spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
In addition to her husband, survivors include daughters Beverly Moran and Kerri Lynn Luke; grandchildren Kimberly Biggerstaff and Logan Luke; great-granddaughters Harley and Brodie Biggerstaff; siblings Johnny Menges Sr. of Rockdale, Billy Rex Menges of Tucumcari, N.M., Terry Menges of Caldwell, Victoria Castro of Austin and Ronnie Menges of Tillman Ranch in South Texas; and in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service is 11 a.m. May 12 at the South San Gabriel Cemetery with the Rev. Gordon Bergstrom officiating.
