Lady Dawgs end regular season with loss; bi-district match up next
BURNET — The Burnet High School softball team finished its regular season with a 7-1 loss to Liberty Hill April 20.
The Lady Dawgs (17-10, 5-5) will face Fredericksburg in the bi-district round of the playoffs with Game 1 April 27 and Game 2 April 28. Both contests start at 5 p.m. at Scearce Field on the Marble Falls High School campus, 2101 Mustang Drive in Marble Falls. Game 3, if necessary, will follow 30 minutes after Game 2.
Against Liberty Hill, Burnet got its only run in the second inning when Amanda Green hit an RBI single.
But the Lady Panthers, who are the District 25-3A champions, scored three unearned runs on four errors in the second inning and then one run in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Burnet senior pitcher Kristen Spinn gave up one earned run off six hits, had a walk and struck out three.
