New Llano head football coach, athletic director ready to make ‘immediate impact’
LLANO — Right after Craig Slaughter accepted the position of head football coach and athletic director at Llano High School, he received a call from his father.
“You didn’t get enough of Brownwood when you coached at Sweetwater?” Dan Slaughter asked.
Apparently not, as Slaughter, pending Llano Independent School District board approval Monday, will take over a Yellowjackets program that is bracing for its new division, District 8-3A, with longtime rivals Liberty Hill, Lampasas, Burnet and now Gatesville and Brownwood.
