Faith football team begins spring football April 4
MARBLE FALLS — The Faith Academy football team will begin spring practice April 4, head coach Russ Roberts announced.
The team will work out in T-shirts and shorts, he said.
In December, Faith announced it will play 11-man football for the first time in its history this season.
Monday and Tuesday workouts are 3:55-5:25 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday practices are 9:45-11:45 a.m.
Roberts said he expects 25 players to be on the roster.
“I hope to get most of them on the field for some quality practice time,” he said. “Our goal for the spring really won’t involve as much live hitting as work on timing and coordinating five extra players into a confident aggressive team that can keep Flame football on top. We will need more players who can play at a higher level than ever before.”
Faith has been a consistent playoff qualifier in six-man football in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, Roberts said.
The goal is to continue that in 11-man football, he added.
Faith will conclude workouts by the end of the school year in May.
The Flames will be in District 3, Division III with Waco Texas Christian, Temple Central Texas, Temple Holy Trinity, Giddings State School and Texas School for the Deaf.
