Burnet softball team goes 4-2 at Taylor Tournament
TAYLOR — The Burnet High School softball team went 4-2 at the Taylor Tournament March 1-3.
The Lady Dawgs (11-4) lost 3-1 in extra innings in the semifinals to Rogers 3-1. Ashleigh Glover got the RBI.
The team’s other wins were against Gatesville 6-0, Killeen Ellison 8-2, Rockdale 4-0 and Anderson 7-2.
Burnet began the tournament with a 1-0 loss to Temple. Senior pitcher Kristen Spinn allowed one hit and struck out three. The run was unearned.
Samantha Lawrence and Glover finished the tournament with five RBIs, while Rose Bailey had two.
