MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School boys soccer team (4-10-1, 0-3-1) played to a 1-1 tie against Leander Rouse Feb. 24. The Lady Mustangs (2-10-3, 0-4) suffered a 4-1 loss to the Lady Raiders the same night.

Freshman Megan Morgan scored the only goal for the Lady Mustangs on a breakaway.

Junior midfielder Danny Osornio scored the Mustangs’ goal off an assist from junior midfielder Misael Garcia. The ball split the defense in half, allowing Osornio to go one on one with the goalie.

Marble Falls boys head coach Michael Nave said his team controlled the first 30 minutes of the game but couldn’t find the back of the net.

“I don’t like it when we’re up a goal and give up the equalizer,” he said. “But the fact that we were on the road and the fact we scored, those are positives.”

The Marble Falls boys host Leander Vandegrift at Mustang Stadium, 2101 Mustang Drive, while the girls travel to play the Lady Vipers, 9500 McNeil Drive in Austin, Feb. 28. Both contests start at 7:30 p.m.
