KERRVILLE — The Marble Falls High School softball team began the Kerrville Tivy tournament with a 7-4 victory against Bandera Feb. 23.

The Lady Mustangs (3-0) scored six runs in the first four innings before Bandera called for a pitching change.

That didn’t matter thanks to Marble Falls junior pitcher Alicia Macias (2-0), who gave up four runs off seven hits. Only one run was unearned.

Bandera tied the game at 2-2, scoring their only runs in the second.

Macias struggled with her first-pitch strike percentage.

“She’s having to work harder,” Marble Falls head coach Tino Salazar said. “We’re going to continue to work on that.”

The Lady Mustangs had 15 hits led by sophomore Skyler Riley and senior Abby Henry, who each earned two RBIs. Sophomore catcher Naomi Macias was 3 for 4 at the plate.

Marble Falls returns to the Tivy field, 3250 Loop 534 in Kerrville, 3 p.m. Feb. 23 against Medina Valley.
