Charles Grover Sivells
Charles Grover Sivells, 81, of Marble Falls died Feb. 3, 2012. He was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Sweetwater. He attended Georgetown High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern University in 1952.
He worked as a geophysicist for Shell Oil Co. for 17 years. He and his wife purchased Atwood’s Holiday Treat restaurant and moved the family to Marble Falls in June 1971.
He continued to work for Shell as a consultant for many years after moving to Marble Falls. He loved ranching and was blessed to have that outdoor activity for most of his life.
He served on the board of deacons at First Baptist Church of Marble Falls and Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a charter director of Marble Falls National Bank and served terms on the Burnet County Appraisal District, a Burnet County grand jury and the Marble Falls Housing Authority.
He hosted and participated in Promise Keepers, a men’s ministry group, since 1995.
Survivors include his wife Virginia “Jinkey” Anderson Sivells; children Cherie Sivells Miller and Addis “Buddy” Miller, Stephen Sivells and Melanie Whisenhunt Sivells, Hardy Sivells and Theresa Sivells, Alan Sivells and Melinda Williams Sivells; daughter-in law Darlene and Ray Hawkins; brother Howard Dean and Norma Sivells; sisters Doris and Joe Dickinson, and Alice and Roy Harris; aunt Wanda Braden; grandchildren Joseph and Elizabeth Miller, Daniel and Amy Miller, Benjamin and Adriana Miller, Lydia Miller, Abigail Miller, Faith Miller, Jason and Andrea Nicole Sivells, Andrea Lea Sivells, Matthew and Melanie Lynn Sivells, Michael and Rachel Sivells, Lesley Sivells, John Sivells, Jacob Sivells and Chelsea, Alaina Sivells, Seth and Jenna Sivells, Caleb and Felicia Sivells, Joel Sivells, Paul Sivells, Keren Sivells, Luke Sivells, Gabriel Sivells, Anna Sivells, Mark Sivells, Bethany Sivells, Charity Sivells, Grace Sivells and Andrew Sivells; great-grandchildren Hannah, Clay and Ayden Sivells and Claire Miller; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by parents Howard Carroll Sivells, Lessie Stephens Sivells and son Grover Carroll Sivells.

A funeral service is 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at First Baptist Church, 501 Twelfth St. in Marble Falls. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Cemetery.
