Three Marble Falls athletes signing to play college sports Feb. 1
MARBLE FALLS — Three Marble Falls High School seniors will sign to play college sports National Signing Day Feb. 1.
They are football players Taylor Cauble and Gayln Griffin and baseball player Derek Steffek.
Cauble and Griffin will play at Texas A&M-Kingsville, while Steffek will go to Angelina College in Lufkin.
"If a kid can get help going to college and still participate in a sport he loves, it’s the best of both worlds," said Cord Woerner, whose last day as athletic director and head football coach is Jan. 31. "It gives them an opportunity. The friends they make in college will be the guys they remember for the rest of their lives."
The event is noon at Max Copeland Gym, 2101 Mustang Drive.
