James R. Boies
James R. Boies, 88, of Sunrise Beach died Nov. 23, 2011. He was born to James B. and Minnie Moore Boies on June 17, 1923, in Kennewick, Wash.
He served in the Air Force as a pilot. After his retirement from the military, he continued to be an avid pilot. In his spare time he liked to work and said many times he failed retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Lavada Boies of Sunrise Beach; son and daughter-in-law Guy James “Jimmy” and Marta Boies of Mason; and granddaughters Piper Boies and Ashley Watkins.
A memorial service is 2 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Federated Church in Sunrise Beach with the Highland Lakes Honor Guard presenting military honors.
