Mustangs rest and heal for Cedar Park
MARBLE FALLS — Taking a bye didn’t necessarily mean the Marble Falls High School football team was able to use the extra week to prepare for Cedar Park High.
Rather, the Mustangs (3-2, 1-1) used it for healing and resting, which is crucial when four position players are suffering from injuries.
Two of them, senior Hunter Jones and sophomore Carson Bowen, have leg injuries that have ended their seasons. The other two, seniors Zed Woerner and Taylor Cauble, still are playing, and coaches hope their presence and heart will continue to impact their teammates as Marble Falls faces the Timberwolves (6-1, 3-0) at John Gupton Stadium, 200 Gupton Way in Cedar Park, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14.
Cedar Park is on a five-game winning streak, including district wins against Leander Vandegrift (29-28) and Cedar Park Vista Ridge (42-14).
