KINGSLAND — The question of whether incorporation would give Kingsland better police protection took center stage during a debate Oct. 11.

Hundreds of audience members packed the Kingsland Community Center as panelists discussed the pros and cons related to the possible incorporation of Kingsland.

Voters get to decide whether the community of about 6,000 should be incorporated during the Nov. 8 election.

Businessman Steve Fraser and retired financial services officer Richard Goertz argued for and businesswoman Shelley Comerford argued against incorporation.

Fraser cited improved public safety as the primary reason for making Kingsland a city.

"It is probably the No. 1 thing," he added.
