BURNET — Considering the merits of teams in District 25-3A, Burnet High School head football coach Doyle Walker came to inescapable conclusion.

“There are no weak sisters,” he said. “You better be ready to play the next five games.”

Llano High School head coach David Yeager agreed.

“Our district, as always, is very competitive,” he said.

Indeed. Lampasas, which opens division play at Bulldog Field Friday, is 4-1 followed by Burnet, Salado and Liberty Hill at 3-2.

“Those four teams’ records don’t surprise me,” Walker said.

Llano (1-4) and Taylor (0-5) round out the district.
