KERRVILLE — In an offensive juggernaut of a game, Our Lady of the Hills outgunned the Flames, 82-46, Friday.

The game exploded right out of the gate as the two teams traded scores with each other. As the first quarter rolled on, Our Lady of the Hills managed to show some muscle and get the upper hand.

The Flames kept themselves in the game during much of the contest — always finding a way to show a spark here and there. When Our Lady of the Hills pushed out to a 32-14 lead late in the first quarter, it could have closed the chapter on the Flames.

But Faith responded when Jason Byrd went 25 yards in a fourth-and-one situation for a touchdown. Brian Freeman’s two-point conversion was good, and the Flames slipped into the game.

But Our Lady of the Hills needed only 24 seconds of the second quarter to respond to the Flames’ challenge. A 68-yard touchdown pass put Our Lady of the Hills further out front, 38-22.

Again Faith responded.
