LEANDER — The Marble Falls High School sophomore football team defeated Leander Rouse 16-14 on Sept. 29.

Trailing 14-8 midway through the fourth quarter, the Mustangs regained the lead in five plays.

Quarterback Steven Petrosky hit receiver Ty Coffey for a 24-yard touchdown pass. Petrosky also found receiver James Bryer for the two-point conversion.

The big play in the drive was a pass to tight end Hunter Ragland.

Rouse opened play with a touchdown drive and a two-point conversion with 7:08 left in the first quarter for an 8-0 lead.

Marble Falls responded with a four-play touchdown drive. Austin Jones scored on an 8-yard run on the left side with seconds left in first quarter. Quarterback Steven Petrosky added the two-point conversion on a sprint to the right side to tie it at 8-8 going into halftime.
