Burnet Middle School football teams beat Gatesville

BURNET — The Burnet Middle School eighth-grade green football team beat Gatesville 12-8 recently.
The green team (1-1) used a one-play drive to score when Jason Gresham ran around the right end behind the blocks from receivers on the edge and broke a tackle to go 60 yards for the touchdown.
The extra point was missed, but the Bullpups led 6-0.
Gatesville ended a drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass and passed for an extra point to take an 8-6 lead.
A running clock was used in the second half. And the Bullpups used a strong running game to earn the win.
The Bullpups mounted a drive using runs from Trent Rockafellow, Peyton Utsey, Jesse Pollard and Jason Gresham to score with 6:34 left in the game. The extra point attempt failed, but it didn’t matter.
