Joe King II, 59, died Sept. 23, 2011. He was born Feb. 26, 1952, in Midland.

He was a wonderful husband and a great father who enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an avid soccer fan, hunter, Harley rider and diehard Texas Tech University alumnus. He was also a passionate member of the Tech Rodeo Association and participated in rodeos during college.

He gave his all to everything he did in both work and play.

He was a registered professional engineer, a diplomat in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and recently was inducted into the Texas Tech Civil and Environmental Engineering Academy.

He was active in the Water Environment Association of Texas, Water Environment Federation and showed great support for the Operations Challenge teams. His many contributions to the water industry in the United States earned him numerous honors and awards.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Nancy; and sons William Shawn and Clayton Montgomery.  He also leaves behind many loving friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepmother and grandparents.

A funeral service is 2 p.m. Sept. 28 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.

A celebration of life service is Oct. 9 in Fort Worth.
