Highland Lakes triathlete qualifies for world championships
BURLINGTON, Vermont — Local triathlete Denise Rhodes was told by a friend she would finish the USA Triathlon in 2 hours, 30 minutes.
But Rhodes (50-54 age group) didn’t believe her. Good thing the clock doesn’t lie.
Denise Rhodes posted her best time at the USA Triathlon Meet. For her efforts, she finished 13th out of 68 athletes in the female 50-54 age group. That finish has earned her a spot at the World Triathlon Championships next year. Courtesy photo
Rhodes posted a time of 2:28.56 to finish 13th out of 68 athletes Aug. 20. She qualified for the Triathlon World Championships in Auckland, New Zealand, in October 2012.
